Lumbar Spondylosis: Symptom and Causes

Symptoms

  • Pain in the lower back, buttock or leg
  • Restricted movement in the back, particularly in the morning and after periods of rest
  • Disturbed sleep due to pain
  • Pins and needles or loss of sensation in the leg or foot
  • In more severe cases a weakness in the leg or foot
  • Back stiffness particularly in the morning

Causes

The most common causes for lumbar spondylosis are:
  • Lifestyle : In individuals without ergonomic care for e.g. while working in front of computers, Driving, Traveling etc
  • Repeated injury or strain
  • Age : Individuals above the age of 40 are more prone to develop the disease
