PIDS: Symptom and Causes

Symptoms

  • Pain in the lower abdomen and upper abdomen
  • Fever, Chills
  • Nausea, Vomiting
  • Unusual vaginal discharge with a foul odor
  • Painful intercourse
  • Painful urination
  • Irregular, heavy and painful menstrual bleeding
 

Causes

It is mainly caused by bacteria that cause chlamydia and gonorrhea.
It also occurs due to following reasons:
  • Pregnancy termination
  • Multiple sexual partners
  • Unprotected sex
  • Childbirth
  • Insertion of intrauterine devices (IUDs)
