SALMETEROL is a Schedule H drug.
Salmeterol is a bronchodilator. It works by relaxing muscles in the airways to improve breathing.
Salmeterol inhalation is used to prevent asthma attacks or exercise-induced bronchospasm.Salmeterol inhalation is also used to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) including emphysema and chronic bronchitis.

Precautions

• Do not use salmeterol inhalation to treat an asthma attack that has already begun.
• Use only the prescribed dose of this medication, and do not use it for longer than your doctor recommends.
• Follow all patient instructions for safe use.If you use salmeterol inhalation for asthma, you must use it together with another long-term asthma control medication.
• You should not use this medication if you are allergic to salmeterol or to milk proteins.
• Do not stop using salmeterol inhalation without first talking to your doctor.
• Do not exhale or blow into the Diskus device.
• Do not take the device apart or allow it to get wet.
• Do not inhale a double dose to make up for a missed one.
• If you suddenly stop using salmeterol, your symptoms may worsen.
• Do not close or tilt the device, play with the lever, or move the lever more than once. You may accidentally release or waste a dose.

Symptoms of Overdosage

SALMETEROL over-dosage can result in: Arms Pain, Back Pain, Jaws Pain, Confusion, Dizziness, Fainting, Irregular Heartbeat, Difficulty Sleeping, Seizures (uncontrollable Jerking Of Limbs), Pounding Heart (pulse)

SALMETEROL : Muscle Cramp, Joint Pain, Insomnia, Bronchitis, Respiratory Infection, Stomach Pain, Diarrhoea, Dry Mouth, Dry Skin, Vomiting, Pain, Head Headache, Cough, Runny Nose, Nasal Congestion, Restless Or Irritability, Palpitations (fluttering In Chest), Increased Thirst, Frequent Urination, Fever, Loss Of Appetite, Nervousness, Fruity Odor On Breath, Noisy Breathing, Fatigue (tiredness), Weight Loss (unintentional), Body Discomfort, Chills, Eyes Blurred Vision, Nausea
