ECOGEN B OINT is a Schedule H1 antibiotic.

ECOGEN B OINT is composed of: BECLOMETASONE ( ), ECONAZOLE ( ), GENTAMICIN ( )

Beclomethasone is a steroid. It prevents the release of substances in the body that cause inflammation. Beclomethasone inhalation is used to prevent asthma attacks in adults and children who are at least 5 years old. This medication will not treat an asthma attack that has already begun.


Econazole is an antifungal medicine that fights infections caused by fungus. Econazole (for the skin) is used to treat athlete’s foot (tinea pedis), jock itch (tinea cruris), and ringworm (tinea corporis). Econazole topical is also used to treat tinea versicolor (a fungus that discolors the skin), and yeast infections of the skin.

Gentamicin is a prescription medication used to treat certain serious infections that are caused by bacteria such as meningitis (infection of the membranes that surround the brain and spinal cord) and infections of the blood, abdomen (stomach area), lungs, skin, bones, joints, and urinary tract. Gentamicin can be used topically to treat eye and skin infections. Gentamicin can cause kidney damage and hearing loss. Patients should be closely monitored while receiving gentamicin. Gentamicin belongs to a group of drugs called aminoglycoside antibiotics. Gentamicin can also cause dizziness. Do not drive or operate heavy machinery until you know how gentamicin affects you.

Precautions for ECOGEN B OINT and its Constituents


Caution should be exercised in patients with history of tuberculosis (TB), chickenpox, liver, kidney or heart disease, sugar, under active thyroid, high blood pressure, mental illness, muscle pain/weakness, joint inflammation, eye infection, seizures, ulcer, any allergy, who taking other medications, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Avoid contact with eyes. Since it takes time to get rid off from your health condition, continue to use it as directed by your healthcare provider. Avoid contact with people with chickenpox, measles or shingles.
Caution needed for pregnant and breastfeeding women. Avoid excess dosage. Avoid getting this medicine in your eyes. Do not cover the treated skin area.
