OS Trigonum Syndrome: Treatment, Diet and Home Remedies

Food and Nutrition

Foods to be taken
Eat foods that are rich in Vitamin E.  This vitamin helps combat swelling issues.  Good foods to try include spinach, almond oil, sweet potato, sunflower seeds, and wheat germs.

Foods to be avoided

Reduce alcohol, tobacco, coffee, black tea, and processed foods

Yoga and Exercise

Once your pain subsides, gently exercise your ankle by rotating it in circles. Rotate both directions, and stop if it begins to hurt. You can also use your hands to gently flex the ankle up and down. These exercises will return your range of motion and help exercise your ankle.
Yoga asanas for ankles include
  • Tadasana
  • Virasana
  • Balasana

Home Remedies

  • Ice Packs applied for twenty minutes every couple of hours may help with the pain
  • Rest the injured foot to let the inflammation subside
  • Use a walking boot to restrict ankle motion and allow the injured tissue to heal
