Prevention Tips

  • Avoid activities that aggravate your knee pain, especially sports that involve pivoting or twisting your knee
  • Be especially careful doing squats to avoid excessive compression of the meniscus.
  • Stop smoking

Watch Out

  • Difficulty bending and straightening the leg
  • Sudden loss of motion/function of knee

When to See Doctor

Contact your doctor if your knee is painful or swollen, or if you cannot move your knee in the usual ways.
