GATIFLOXACIN is a Schedule H drug.
Gatifloxacin is an antibiotic. Gatifloxacin is used in the treatment of bacterial infections. It works by preventing the bacterial cells from dividing and repairing, thereby killing the bacteria. It is also used in infections of urinary tract, tonsils, sinus, nose, throat, female genital organ, skin and soft tissues, windpipe and lungs (pneumonia).

Precautions

Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Notify your doctor if you feel pain in your tendons, numbness, or tingling sensations. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to conceive or breastfeeding.

Symptoms of Overdosage

GATIFLOXACIN over-dosage can result in: Difficulty Breathing

GATIFLOXACIN : Diarrhoea, Head Headache, Nausea, Vomit, Abdomen Pain, Loose Motion, Dizziness

Food Interactions

Gatifloxacin and multivitamin with minerals should not be taken orally at the same time. Products that contain magnesium, aluminum, calcium, iron, and/or other minerals may interfere with the absorption of gatifloxacin into the bloodstream and reduce its effectiveness. If possible, it may be best to avoid taking multivitamin with minerals while your are being treated with gatifloxacin.

GATIFLOXACIN can interfere with: Acute Renal Failure, Diabetes Mellitus, Myasthenia Gravis, Heart Arrhythmias, Hypokalemia, Transient Ischemic Attack, Magnesium Deficiency, Congestive Heart Disease, Tendinitis, Colitis, Gastroenteritis, Diarrhoea, Vomiting
