NORMAXIN-RT TAB is a Schedule H drug.

NORMAXIN-RT TAB is composed of: RANITIDINE (75 MG), DICYCLOMINE (10 MG), CHLORDIAZEPOXIDE (5 MG), CLIDINIUM BROMIDE (2.5 MG)

Ranitidine belongs to a group of drugs called histamine-2 blockers. It works by reducing the amount of acid your stomach produces. Ranitidine is used to treat and prevent ulcers in the stomach and intestines. It also treats conditions in which the stomach produces too much acid, such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Ranitidine also treats gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and other conditions in which acid backs up from the stomach into the esophagus, causing heartburn.

Dicyclomine relieves spasms of the muscles in the stomach and intestines. Dicyclomine is used to treat functional bowel or irritable bowel syndrome. Dicyclomine is used in the treatment of abdominal pain.Dicyclomine works by relaxing the muscles in your stomach and gut (intestine). It stops sudden muscle contractions (spasms). In doing this, it relieves cramps, pain, bloating,   and discomfort.Dicyclomine is a prescription medication used to treat irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). This medication belongs to a group of drugs called anticholinergic agents. It relieves intestinal spasms by blocking muscarinic receptors in the digestive tract.
Chlordiazepoxide is a benzodiazepine. Chlordiazepoxide affects chemicals in the brain that may be unbalanced in people with anxiety. Chlordiazepoxide is used to treat anxiety disorders. Chlordiazepoxide may be used short-term to treat anxiety you may have before a surgery. Chlordiazepoxide is also used to treat anxiety or withdrawal symptoms of alcoholism.
 Clidinium Bromide is a Antimuscarinic; synthetic quaternary ammonium.Chlordiazepoxide/clidinium treats irritable bowel syndrome.Clidinium works by relaxing the muscles in your stomach and gut (intestine). It stops sudden muscle contractions (spasms). In doing this, it relieves cramps, pain, bloating, and discomfort.

Precautions for NORMAXIN-RT TAB and its Constituents


Avoid drinking alcohol. It can increase the risk of damage to your stomach. Caution should be exercised in patients with history of porphyria, kidney or liver disease; during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Avoid excess dosage.

  •  This medication may impair your thinking or alertness. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be alert.
  •  Avoid becoming overheated or dehydrated during exercise and in hot weather. Dicyclomine can decrease your sweating, which can lead to heat stroke in a hot environment.
  •  Avoid taking alcohol as it can increase certain side effects of dicyclomine.
  • Stop using dicyclomine and call your doctor right away if you have serious side effects such as confusion, hallucinations, unusual thoughts or behavior, fast or uneven heart rate, or if you urinate less than usual or not at all.
  • You should not take this medication if you are allergic to dicyclomineTake exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
  • Do not take in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended. Follow the directions on your prescription label.Dicyclomine is usually taken 4 times each day. Your doctor may occasionally change your dose to make sure you get the best results.Take this medicine with a full glass of water.

 Avoid drinking alcohol. Dangerous side effects could occur.

Chlordiazepoxide may impair your thinking or reactions. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this medicine will affect you. Dizzinessor severe drowsiness can cause falls or other accidents.



  • It should not be taken by patients who are allergic to clidinium.
  • Avoid becoming overheated in hot weather. Clidinium increases the risk of heat stroke because it decreases sweating.
  • Do not drive or operate machinery as clidinium in combination with other medicines may cause drowsiness and blurring of vision.
  • Use with caution in patients with hepatic disease.
  • Use with caution in patients with renal disease.
  • Cardiovascular effects of anticholinergics may exacerbate hypertension.
  •  Therapy with anticholinergic agents should be administered cautiously in patients with hypertension.

RANITIDINE over-dosage can result in: Loss Of Coordination, Lightheadedness, Fainting
DICYCLOMINE over-dosage can result in: Eyes Enlarged (dilated) Pupils, Difficulty Breathing, Fever, Dizziness, Difficulty Swallowing, Mood Swings, Irregular Heartbeat, Seizures (uncontrollable Jerking Of Limbs), Fainting
CHLORDIAZEPOXIDE over-dosage can result in: Drowsiness, Confusion
