DESFERAL INJ is a Schedule H drug.

DESFERAL INJ is composed of: DEFEROXAMINE (500 MG)

Deferoxamine binds to iron and removes it from the blood stream. Deferoxamine is used to treat iron overload caused by blood transfusions in adults and children at least 3 years old.  It works by helping the kidneys and galbladder get rid of the extra iron.

Common Side-Effects

DEFEROXAMINE : Loose Motion, Difficulty Urinating, Fever, Legs Muscle Cramps Or Spasms (painful), Nausea, Abdomen Muscle Cramps Or Spasms (painful), Vomit

Serious Side-Effects

DEFEROXAMINE : Fingers Blue Colored Skin, Eyes Blurred Vision, Seizures (uncontrollable Jerking Of Limbs), Difficulty Breathing, Rapid Heart Rate (pulse), Hearing Loss
