BETACHOICE OINT is composed of: SALICYLIC ACID (6.0 %W/W), HALOBETASOL (0.05 %W/W)

Salicylic acid is a keratolytic (peeling agent). Salicylic acid causes shedding of the outer layer of skin.Salicylic acid treats acne and is also used for wart removal and other skin conditions.Salicylic Acid is a keratolytic medication. It treats pimples (acne) by penetrating into the skin and killing acne-causing bacteria. It additionally reduces oil production in the skin, replenishes acne-prone skin and helps keep your pores open.

Halobetasol is a steroid. It reduces the actions of chemicals in the body that cause inflammation.Halobetasol topical (for the skin) is used to treat the inflammation and itching caused by a number of skin conditions such as allergic reactions, eczema, and psoriasis.

Precautions for BETACHOICE OINT and its Constituents


  • You should not use salicylic acid topical if you are allergic to it.
  • Do not give this medication to a child or teenager with a fever, flu symptoms, or chicken pox.
  • Use the medicine exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor.
  • Do not use in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
  • Do not take this medicine by mouth. It is for use only on your skin.Gently clean and dry the affected area. When treating warts or calluses, you may gently remove any loose tissue with a soft brush, wash cloth, or nail file. Soak the skin for 5 minutes before applying the medicine.
  • You may need to shake the foam or lotion before use. Follow all directions on the product label.
  • Cut the skin patch to fit the area you are treating.
  • Use salicylic acid topical regularly to get the most benefit.
  • Do not use salicylic acid topical to treat any skin condition that has not been checked by your doctor.
  • Do not use extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
  • Wart remover medicine may be flammable. Do not use near high heat or open flame such as a burning candle.
  • Wash the medicine off your hands before handling a hair styling appliance. High heat could cause the medicine to ignite and burn your skin.Do not smoke until the gel has completely dried on your skin.
  • Avoid getting this medication in your eyes, nose, mouth, rectum, or vagina. If this does happen, rinse with water.
  • Do not use the medicine on sunburned, windburned, dry, chapped, irritated, or broken skin.
  • Do not apply salicylic acid to open wounds or irritated skin.
  • Do not cover treated skin with a bandage or heating pad, which can increase the burning sensation.
  • You should not cover the skin with clothing immediately after application.

  • You should not use this medicine if you are allergic to halobetasol.
  • Do not use halobetasol topical on a child of any age without a doctor’s advice
  • Do not take by mouth. Halobetasol topical is for use only on the skin.
  • Do not use this medicine on open wounds or on sunburned, windburned, dry, chapped, or irritated skin. Follow all directions on your prescription label. Do not use this medicine in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
  • Wash your hands before and after using halobetasol topical, unless you are using this medicine to treat the skin on your hands.
  • Apply a small amount to the affected area and rub it gently into the skin.
  • Do not apply this medicine over a large area of skin. Do not cover treated skin areas with a bandage or other covering unless your doctor has told you to.
  • Rinse with water if this medicine gets in your eyes.
  • Avoid applying this medicine to your face, underarms, or groin area unless your doctor tells you to.
  • Do not use halobetasol topical to treat any skin condition that has not been checked by your doctor.
  • Do not use if there is an infection or sore present in the area to be treated.

SALICYLIC ACID over-dosage can result in: Confusion, Dizziness, Rapid Breathing, Head Headache, Hearing Loss, Lightheadedness, Nausea, Drowsiness, Ringing In Ears, Vomit, Abdomen Pain
HALOBETASOL over-dosage can result in: Irregular Menstrual Periods, Easy Bruising
