ZIDOVUDINE is a Schedule H drug.
Zidovudine is an antiviral medicine that prevents human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) from multiplying in your body. Zidovudine is used to treat HIV, the virus that can cause acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). Zidovudine is also given during pregnancy to prevent an HIV-infected woman from passing the virus to her baby. Zidovudine is not a cure for HIV or AIDS.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with history of bone marrow depression, low blood counts, liver, kidney diseases, obesity, any allergy, who are taking other medications, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Avoid contact with people who have infections. Avoid sexual contact with your partner in order to avoid transmission of HIV infection. Monitor liver, kidney functions, and complete blood cell counts while taking this medication.

Serious Side-Effects

ZIDOVUDINE : Guillan-Barre Syndrome, Goiter, Depression, Fever, Chills, Cough, Difficulty Breathing, Irregular Heartbeat, Anxiety, Confusion, Easy Bruising

ZIDOVUDINE : Skin Rash, Dizziness, Face Swelling, Body Itching
