GLOBAC-Z SG-CAP is composed of: FERROUS FUMARATE (152 MG), CYANOCOBALAMIN (15 MCG), ZINC SULFATE (15 MG), FOLIC ACID (1.5 MG)

Ferrous fumarate is a type of iron. You normally get iron from the foods you eat. In your body, iron becomes a part of your hemoglobin and myoglobin.This medication is an iron supplement used to treat or prevent low blood levels of iron. Iron is an important mineral that the body needs to produce red blood cells and keep you in good health.

Cyanocobalamin is a man-made form of vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is important for growth, cell reproduction, blood formation, and protein and tissue synthesis. Cyanocobalamin is used to tret vitamin B12 deficiency in people with pernicious anemia and other conditions.

Folic acid is a type of B vitamin that is normally found in foods such as dried beans, peas, lentils, oranges, whole-wheat products, liver, asparagus, beets, broccoli, brussels sprouts, and spinach.Folic acid helps your body produce and maintain new cells, and also helps prevent changes to DNA that may lead to cancer.As a medication, folic acid is used to treat folic acid deficiency and certain types of anemia (lack of red blood cells) caused by folic acid deficiency.Folic acid is sometimes used in combination with other medications to treat pernicious anemia. It plays a vital role in the formation of red blood cells, which carry oxygen throughout the body. It is also essential in pregnancy due to its role in the development of the unborn baby’s brain and spinal cord.

Precautions for GLOBAC-Z SG-CAP and its Constituents


  • You should not use ferrous fumarate if you have iron overload syndrome.
  • You should not use ferrous fumarate if you are allergic to it.
  • Do not give ferrous fumarate to a child without the advice of a doctor.
  • Follow all directions on your prescription label. Do not take ferrous fumarate in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.Take ferrous fumarate on an empty stomach, at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal. Avoid taking antacids or antibiotics within 2 hours before or after taking ferrous fumarate.
  • Take this medication with a full glass of water.
  • Do not crush, chew, or break a ferrous fumarate tablet. Swallow it whole.
  • Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
  • Do not take any vitamin or mineral supplements that your doctor has not prescribed or recommended.
  • Ask your doctor before using an antacid, and use only the type your doctor recommends. Caution needed in patients with folic acid-dependent tumors.
  • Do not take this medication for more than 6 months without checking with your doctor.
  • Chewable tablets of this medicine may contain aspartame. If you have phenylketonuria or any other condition that requires you to restrict your intake of aspartame consult your doctor or pharmacist about using this drug safely.
  • Liquid preparations of this product may contain sugar and/or alcohol. Caution is advised if you have diabetes, alcohol dependence, or liver disease. Ask your doctor or pharmacist about using this product safely.

Take the extended-release tablet with a full glass of water.  Do not substitute folic acid for this medication. Perform lab tests for blood regularly, to monitor the progress. Avoid alcohol consumption while taking this medication. Caution should be exercised in patients with history of kidney and liver disease, pregnancy, breast-feeding and allergy to cobalt.

  • Folic Acid is used for the treatment of folic acid deficiency.
  • It is also taken before and during pregnancy to decrease the risk of defects in the neural tube, which forms the spinal cord in the baby.
  • Inform your doctor if you have a history of seizures as you may need a higher dose of the seizure medicines than what you normally take.
  • You should not use this medication if you have ever had an allergic reaction to folic acid.Take folic acid exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
  • Do not take it in larger amounts or for longer than recommended.
  • Follow the directions on your prescription label.
  • Take folic acid with a full glass of water.
  • Follow your doctor’s instructions about any restrictions on food, beverages.
  • Caution should be exercised in patients with history of long-term infection, seizure disorder, liver problems and kidney dialysis.

FERROUS FUMARATE over-dosage can result in: Drowsiness, Nausea, Abdomen Pain, Vomit, Slow Or Irregular Breathing, Slow Heart Rate (pulse), Cold, Loose Motion
FOLIC ACID over-dosage can result in: Mouth Pain, Weakness (generalized), Fatigue (tiredness), Confusion, Difficulty Concentrating
