LIXISENATIDE

LIXISENATIDE is a Schedule H drug.
Lixisenatide is an injectable diabetes medicine that helps control blood sugar levels. This medication helps your pancreas produce insulin more efficiently. Lixisenatide is used together with diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes. Lixisenatide is not for treating type 1 diabetes.

Precautions

Limit alcohol while using this medication because it can increase your risk of developing low blood sugar. During pregnancy, this medication should be used only when clearly needed. Your doctor may change your diabetes treatment during your pregnancy (such as diet and medications including insulin). It is unknown if this medication passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
