Cisapride treats heartburn. Because of the risk of serious arrhythmias, it should generally be reserved for special patients who are signed up by their doctors. Cisapride is used in the treatment of heartburn and indigestion.

How Do I Take It?

CISAPRIDE is generally taken Before Food.
Route of Administration: Oral

Precautions

• Do not take cisapride if you have history of irregular heartbeats, heart disease, kidney disease or lung disease.
• Stop taking cisapride and contact your doctor immediately if you faint, become dizzy or develop any other unusual symptoms.
• Never take more than the recommended dose of cisapride as it can adversely affect normal heartbeat of an individual.
• Do not drink alcohol or take medicines called benzodiazepines along with cisapride as they can cause excessive drowsiness.
•  If you have an allergy to cisapride or any other part of this medicine (cisapride tablets).
  
•  If you are allergic to any drugs like this one, any other drugs, foods, or other substances. Tell your doctor about the allergy and what signs you had, like rash; hives; itching; shortness of breath; wheezing; cough; swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat; or any other signs.
•  If you have any of these health problems: A bowel block, stomach or bowel bleeding, or a hole in the stomach or bowel.

CISAPRIDE over-dosage can result in: Difficulty Breathing

CISAPRIDE : Constipation, Diarrhoea, Hepatitis, Head Headache, Nausea, Abdomen Pain, Dry Mouth, Runny Nose, Frequent Urination

Rare Side-Effects

CISAPRIDE : Bronchospasm Cough, Heart Block, Thrombocytopenia, Insomnia, Anxiety, Palpitation, Syncope, Gastroparesis, Tachycardia, Aplastic Anemia, Granulocytopenia, Hives, Hallucination, Seizures (uncontrollable Jerking Of Limbs), Depressed Mood, Confusion, Hallucinations
