PALONOSETRON

Overview

PALONOSETRON is a Schedule H drug.
Palonosetron blocks the actions of chemicals in the body that can trigger nausea and vomiting.
Palonosetron is used in adults to prevent nausea and vomiting caused by surgery, or by receiving medicine to treat cancer (chemotherapy). Palonosetron is used in children only to prevent nausea and vomiting caused by cancer medicine.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with history of heart disease, decrease in blood minerals, any allergy, who are taking other medications, children, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. It may cause drowsiness or dizziness, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication. Avoid excess dosage. Palonosetron is usually given 30 minutes before chemotherapy, or right before you are given anesthesia for surgery.

PALONOSETRON : Serotonin Syndrome, Skin Rash, Rapid Heart Rate (pulse), Hallucinations, Loss Of Coordination, Dizziness, Fever, Agitation, Restless Or Irritability, Difficulty Breathing, Face Swelling, Body Itching

PALONOSETRON can interfere with: Acute Renal Failure
