Overview

DOPAMINE is a Schedule H drug.
Dopamine is a medication form of a substance that occurs naturally in the body. It works by improving the pumping strength of the heart and improves blood flow to the kidneys. Dopamine injection (Intropin) is used to treat certain conditions that occur when you are in shock, which may be caused by heart attack, trauma, surgery, heart failure, kidney failure, and other serious medical conditions.

Route of Administration: IV (Intravenous)

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with history of thickening and hardening of arteries, Raynaud’s disease, Buerger’s disease, diabetic endarteritis, increase in diastolic pressure, who are taking other medications, any allergy, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Monitor urine flow, cardiac output and blood pressure regularly while taking this medication. Blood volume should be corrected before infusion of this medication. Avoid excess dosage.

DOPAMINE : Heart Arrhythmias, Atrial Fibrillation, Tachycardia, Stable Angina, Bradycardia, Hypotension, Hypertension, Gangrene, Nausea, Vomit, Head Headache, Anxiety, Palpitations (fluttering In Chest)

DOPAMINE can interfere with: Heart Arrhythmias, Asthma, Pheochromocytoma
