CC-8 TAB is composed of: CANDESARTAN (8 MG)

Candesartan is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist. Candesartan keeps blood vessels from narrowing, which lowers blood pressure and improves blood flow.Candesartan is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults and children who are at least 1 year old. Lowering blood pressure can reduce the risk of stroke, heart attack, or other heart complications.Candesartan is also used in adults with certain types of heart failure, to reduce serious complications or death due to heart damage.Candesartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB). It works by blocking the hormone angiotensin thereby relaxing blood vessels, allowing the blood to flow more smoothly and the heart to pump more efficiently.

Precautions for CC-8 TAB and its Constituents


  • You have been prescribed Candesartan to improve your blood pressure.
  • Lowering blood pressure reduces chances of future heart attack & strokes.
  • It may also be used to treat chronic (long-standing) heart failure.
  • It protects kidney function, which is especially useful for people with diabetes or mild-to-moderate kidney diseases.
  • Candesartan can make you feel dizzy for the first few days. Take it preferably at bedtime and rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down. Candesartan may cause the level of potassium in blood to go up. Avoid taking potassium supplements and potassium-rich foods such as banana and broccoli.
  •  Do not take Candesartan during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Tell your doctor if you become pregnant while taking Candesartan.
  • If you have diabetes, do not use candesartan together with any medication that contains aliskiren (Amturnide, Tekturna, Tekamlo).
  • You should not use this medication if you are allergic to candesartan.
  • You may also need to avoid taking candesartan with aliskiren if you have kidney disease.
  • Follow all directions on your prescription label. Your doctor may occasionally change your dose to make sure you get the best results.
  • Do not take this medicine in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.You may take candesartan with or without food.
