ALFUSIN-D TAB is composed of: ALFUZOSIN (10 MG), DUTASTERIDE (0.5 MG)

Alfuzosin is an Alpha drenergic blocker. It helps to relax the muscles in the prostate and Bladder neck making it easier to urinate.
alfuzosin is used to improve urination in men with benign prostatic hyperplasia.

Dutasteride prevents the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in the body. DHT is involved in the development of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).Dutasteride is used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men with an enlarged prostate. Dutasteride helps improve urinary flow and may also reduce your need for prostate surgery later on.Dutasteride is sometimes given with another medication called tamsulosin.Dutasteride is a 5-alpha reductase inhibitors. It blocks an enzyme which is necessary to change testosterone to another hormone that causes the prostate to grow. As a result, it helps to shrink the prostate and relieve the symptoms like difficulty in passing urine.

Precautions for ALFUSIN-D TAB and its Constituents


Caution should be exercised in the patients with history of irregular heart beat, chest pain, prostate cancer and low blood pressure.
It may cause dizziness. Don’t drive while taking this medication.
Alfuzosin is prescribed only for men. women shouldn’t take this medicine especially during pregnancy and lactation.


  • Your doctor has prescribed Dutasteride to shrink the enlarged prostate and reduce the risk of urinary retention.
  • It may take 3 to 6 months to see the full beneficial effect of Dutasteride. Hence, continue taking the medicine as advised by your doctor.
  • Dutasteride is usually well tolerated. However, it may produce some mild sexual side effects such as low sexual drive.
  • Do not donate blood for 6 months after taking the last dose of Dutasteride.
  • Dutasteride should never be taken by a woman or a child.
  • Do not chew, crush, or open a dutasteride capsule. Swallow the capsule whole.
  • Dutasteride can irritate your lips, mouth, or throat if the capsule has been broken or opened before you swallow it.
  • Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not take in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
  • Follow the directions on your prescription label.Take dutasteride with a full glass of water.
  • Dutasteride can be taken with or without food.

ALFUZOSIN : Urticaria, Angioedema, Pruritus, Nasal Congestion, Throat Soreness, Sneezing, Fever, Head Headache, Heartburn
DUTASTERIDE : Impotence

Rare Side-Effects

ALFUZOSIN : Priapism, Rhinitis, Fainting, Confusion, Chills, Increased Sensitivity To Cold
