Foods to be taken
  • Breast milk should be the sole nutritional source
  • Infant formulas available as ready to feed liquids can also be helpful
  • Biotin and Zinc rich foods
  • Apple sauce, banana, rice, toast can be given
Foods to be avoided
  • Acidic foods like tomatoes and tomato based products (sauces)
  • Fruits like strawberries, plum, pineapple, apples, peach, grapes, and raisins
  • Protein rich food like wheat, dairy, soy, legumes, beans
  • Foods causing diarrhea like dairy products (except yogurt), cherry juice, apricots, and pears
  • Wheat cereals and artificial sweeteners

Home Remedies

  • Keep the skin dry and change the diaper every time it is wet
  • Use a superabsorbent disposable diaper
  • Wash the diaper area with warm water and soft cloth
  • Diaper rash creams or ointments can be used
Avoid
  • Do not use any soap, baby wipes, plastic pants until the rash is gone
  • Do not use talcum powder
  • Donot secure the diaper so tightly
  • Donot wash cloth diapers with detergents that contain fragrances and donot use fabric conditioner
