Overview

KETOTIFEN is an Over-the-counter (OTC) drug.
Ketotifen is an antihistamine that reduces the effects of natural chemical histamine in the body.It blocks histamine a substance in the body that causes allergic symptoms.The Ketotifen works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that may cause inflammation, spasm of muscles of the airways and other symptoms of asthma and allergies.

Precautions

  • You should not use ketotifen ophthalmic if you are allergic to it.
  • Use exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor.
  • Do not use in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
  • Do not use ketotifen ophthalmic while wearing contact lenses. Ketotifen ophthalmic may contain a preservative that can discolor soft contact lenses.
  • Wait at least 10 minutes after using this medicine before putting in your contact lenses.
  • Wash your hands before using the eye drops.Do not touch the tip of the eye dropper or place it directly on your eye. A contaminated dropper can infect your eye, which could lead to serious vision problems.
  • Do not use the eye drops if the liquid has changed colors or has particles in it.
  • Do not use extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
  • Do not use other eye medications unless your doctor tells you to.It may cause dizziness or drowsiness, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication.

KETOTIFEN over-dosage can result in: Eyes Blurred Vision, Confusion, Disorientation, Dizziness, Drowsiness, Fainting, Irregular Heartbeat, Hyperactive Behavior, Fatigue (tiredness), Palpitations (fluttering In Chest), Body Excessive Sweating
