Efalizumab is used for the treatment of adult patients with moderate to severe chronic plaque psoriasis, who are candidates for phototherapy or systemic therapy.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with history of cancer, at risk of developing cancer, arthritis, anemia, nerve problems, poor immunity, psoriasis, infections, herpes, syphilis, tuberculosis (TB), any allergy, who are taking other medications, elderly, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. It may reduce platelet counts; avoid injury or bruising. It should not be used in children. Avoid live vaccination during the treatment period.

Symptoms of Overdosage

EFALIZUMAB over-dosage can result in: Difficulty Breathing

EFALIZUMAB : Thrombocytopenia, Meningitis, Sepsis, Pneumonia, Gastroenteritis, Head Headache, Unusual Facial Expression, Hearing Loss

Rare Side-Effects

EFALIZUMAB : Skin Rash, Body Itching, Face Swelling
