SECRETIN

Overview

This medication is a hormone, prescribed for secretion stimulating test in stimulation of pancreatic secretions, stimulation of gastrin secretion in order to identify gastrinoma, pancreatitis or pancreatic cancer.  It inhibits gastric acid secretion.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with history of inflammatory bowel disease, acute pancreatitis, liver impairment, any allergy, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Avoid excess dosage.

SECRETIN : Hypotension, Pancreatitis, Diarrhoea, Nausea, Abdomen Upset Stomach, Vomit, Fever, Abdomen Pain, Slow Heart Rate (pulse), Head Headache, Anxiety
