Terbutaline is a prescription medication used to prevent and treat wheezing, shortness of breath, and chest tightness caused by asthma, chronic bronchitis, and emphysema. Terbutaline belongs to a group of drugs called beta agonists. These work to relax and open the airways, making it easier to breathe.

Precautions for TUSPEL PLUS EXP and its Constituents




  • Before taking terbutaline, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it or to similar bronchodilators (e.g., albuterol, metaproterenol, salmeterol); or to sympathomimetic drugs (e.g., epinephrine, pseudoephedrine) or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems.
  • Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of heart disease (e.g., abnormal heartbeat, ischemic heart disease, high blood pressure), seizures, overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism), diabetes, low blood potassium level (hypokalemia).
  • This drug may make you dizzy or drowsy. Alcohol or marijuana can make you more dizzy or drowsy. Do not drive, use machinery, or do anything that needs alertness until you can do it safely. Limit alcoholic beverages.
  • Before having surgery, tell your doctor or dentist about all the products you use (including prescription drugs, nonprescription drugs, and herbal products).
  • This medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. See Warning Section.
  • Terbutaline passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

TERBUTALINE over-dosage can result in: Head Headache, Dry Mouth, Palpitations (fluttering In Chest), Nausea, Dizziness, Fatigue (tiredness)
