LOTETOB 0.3/0.5% EYE DPS is composed of: LOTEPREDNOL (0.5 %W/V), TOBRAMYCIN SULFATE (0.3 %W/V)

Loteprednol is a steroid. It prevents the release of substances in the body that cause inflammation.Loteprednol ophthalmic (for the eye) is used to treat eye swelling caused by surgery, infection, allergies, and other conditions.


Tobramycin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic. Tobramycin fights infections that are caused by bacteria.Tobramycin injection is used to treat bacterial infections of the skin, heart, stomach, brain and spinal cord, lungs, and urinary tract (bladder and kidneys). It is also used in the treatment of cystic fibrosis. Tobramycin injection is sometimes used together with other antibiotics. It stops bacterial growth by preventing synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions.

Precautions for LOTETOB 0.3/0.5% EYE DPS and its Constituents


  • You should not use this medicine if you are allergic to loteprednol or other steroids, or if you have any type of fungal, viral, or bacterial infection of your eye (including herpes or chickenpox).
  • Do not touch the tip of the eye dropper or place it directly on your eye. A contaminated dropper can infect your eye, which could lead to serious vision problems.Follow all directions on your prescription label. Do not use this medicine in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
  • Do not use loteprednol for longer than 2 weeks unless your doctor tells you to.
  • Do not use this medication while wearing contact lenses. Loteprednol may contain a preservative that can discolor soft contact lenses. Wait at least 10 minutes after using the eye drops before putting in your contact lenses.
  • If you use loteprednol ophthalmic gel, do not wear contacts at all throughout your treatment with the gel.
  • Shake the eye drops well just before each use. If using the gel, turn the bottle upside down and shake once to fill the dropper tip with gel.
  • Wash your hands before using the eye drops.
  • Do not use the eye drops if the liquid has changed colors or has particles in it.
  • Do not use extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
  • Do not use other eye medications unless your doctor tells you to.It may cause blurred vision, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication.
  • May require frequent follow-ups with the doctor to monitor side effects.
  • Wait for at least 5-10 minutes before delivering the next medication in the same eye to avoid dilution.
  • Take with food to avoid an upset stomach.
  • Dose is decreased or tapered over time.

  • You should not use tobramycin if you are allergic to tobramycin.
  • Do not use tobramycin if you are pregnant.
  • Follow all directions on your prescription label. Do not use this medicine in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
  • Tobramycin is inhaled into the lungs with the use of a nebulizer or an inhaler device.
  • Do not swallow the medicine by mouth.
  • Do not use tobramycin inhalation solution if it looks cloudy or has particles in it.
  • Do not use extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
  • Do not mix tobramycin solution with dornase alfa in the nebulizer.It may lead to dehydration, drink adequate fluid.
  • Avoid long-term use of this medication; otherwise it will cause secondary infection.
  • Take full course of treatment and avoid excess dosage.
  • Monitor kidney function, hearing tests, blood electrolyte levels regularly while taking this medication.
  • Do not use contact lenses when on treatment with tobramycin eye drops.
