Ketotifen is an antihistamine that reduces the effects of natural chemical histamine in the body.It blocks histamine a substance in the body that causes allergic symptoms.The Ketotifen works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that may cause inflammation, spasm of muscles of the airways and other symptoms of asthma and allergies.

  • You should not use theophylline if you are allergic to it.
  • Follow the directions on your prescription label. Do not take theophylline in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
  • Your doctor may occasionally change your dose to make sure you get the best results.
  • Do not use theophylline to treat an asthma or bronchospasm attack. Use only a fast acting inhalation medication.
  • Take theophylline with a full glass of water.Follow your doctor’s instructions about whether to take your medication with food or on an empty stomach. Take the medication the same way every time.
  • Do not crush, chew, break, or open an extended-release tablet or capsule. Swallow it whole. Breaking or opening the pill may cause too much of the drug to be released at one time.
  • Measure liquid medicine with a special dose-measuring spoon or medicine cup, not with a regular table spoon.
  • Do not start or stop smoking without first talking to your doctor.
  • Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.Avoid eating foods that are high in fat within 1 hour before or after taking theophylline.
  • This medication may impair your thinking or reactions. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be alert.

  • You should not use ketotifen ophthalmic if you are allergic to it.
  • Use exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor.
  • Do not use in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
  • Do not use ketotifen ophthalmic while wearing contact lenses. Ketotifen ophthalmic may contain a preservative that can discolor soft contact lenses.
  • Wait at least 10 minutes after using this medicine before putting in your contact lenses.
  • Wash your hands before using the eye drops.Do not touch the tip of the eye dropper or place it directly on your eye. A contaminated dropper can infect your eye, which could lead to serious vision problems.
  • Do not use the eye drops if the liquid has changed colors or has particles in it.
  • Do not use extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
  • Do not use other eye medications unless your doctor tells you to.It may cause dizziness or drowsiness, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication.
