FERUMOXYTOL is a Schedule H drug.
Ferumoxytol is a type of iron. You normally get iron from the foods you eat. In your body iron becomes a part of your hemoglobin (HEEM o glo bin) and myoglobin (MY o glo bin). Hemoglobin carries oxygen through your blood to tissues and organs. Myoglobin helps your muscle cells store oxygen. Ferumoxytol is used to treat iron deficiency anemia in people with chronic kidney disease. Anemia is a lack of red blood cells caused by having too little iron in the body.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with history of low blood pressure, who are on dialysis, any allergy who are taking other medications, children, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. It may cause dizziness or lightheadedness, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication. Monitor blood iron levels and blood pressure regularly while taking this medication.

FERUMOXYTOL : Eyes Blurred Vision, Chest Pain, Confusion, Difficulty Breathing, Dizziness, Fainting, Fever, Excessively Salty Sweat Or Skin, Fatigue (tiredness), Weakness (generalized), Weight Gain

FERUMOXYTOL : Black Colored Skin, Hands Swelling, Chest Pain
