LUBIPROSTONE

Overview

LUBIPROSTONE is a Schedule H drug.
Lubiprostone increases the secretion of fluid in your intestines to help make it easier to pass stools (bowel movements). Lubiprostone is used to treat chronic constipation or constipation caused by opioid (narcotic) pain medicine. Lubiprostone may also be used to treat irritable bowel syndrome in women with constipation as the main symptom. Lubiprostone is for use only in adults.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with history of diarrhea, stomach or bowel blockage, who are taking other medications, any allergy, children, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.  It may cause dizziness, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication.

LUBIPROSTONE over-dosage can result in: Difficulty Breathing, Fainting, Pale Skin, Loss Of Appetite, Body Excessive Sweating
