Overview

FROVATRIPTAN is a Schedule H drug.
Frovatriptan should not be used to treat a common tension headache, a headache that causes loss of movement on one side of your body, or any headache that seems to be different from your usual migraine headaches. Use this medicine only if your condition has been confirmed by a doctor as migraine headaches. It will not prevent headaches or reduce the number of attacks.

Precautions

  • It may significantly increase blood pressure. Monitor blood pressure level regularly
  • Patient may develop with increased risk of Serotonin Syndrome with the following symptoms increased heart rate, shivering, sweating, dilated pupils,etc.
  • Before having surgery, tell your doctor or dentist about all the products you use (including prescription drugs, nonprescription drugs, and herbal products).
  • During pregnancy, this medication should be used only when clearly needed. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
  • It is unknown if this drug passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
  • Before taking frovatriptan, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems.
  • Certain conditions can increase your risk for heart problems. Tell your doctor if you have any of these conditions, including high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, family history of heart disease, overweight, smoker, postmenopausal (women), age more than 40 years (men).
  • This drug may make you dizzy. Alcohol can make you more dizzy. Do not drive, use machinery, or do anything that needs alertness until you can do it safely. Limit alcoholic beverages.

FROVATRIPTAN can interfere with: Diabetes Mellitus, Hyperlipidemia, Obesity, Menopause, Myocardial Infarction, Acute Liver Failure
