ADRENALINE is a Schedule H drug.

Adrenaline (epinephrine) is the neurotransmitter of theadrenal gland that is secreted in moments of crisis; it stimulates the heart to beat faster and work harder, increases the flow of blood to the muscles, causes an increased alertness of mind, and produces other changes to prepare the body to meet an emergency. It is also a chemical messenger in the brain.Epinephrine is a chemical that narrows blood vessels andopens airways in the lungs. These effects can reverse severe low blood pressure ,wheezing, severe skin itching, hives, and other symptoms of an allergic reaction. Adrenalin is used to treat severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) to insect stings or bites, foods, drugs, and other allergens. Epinephrine is also used to treat exercise-induced anaphylaxis.

Precautions

  • Do not give this medicine to a child without medical advice
  • Follow all directions on your prescription label. Do not usethis medicine in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
  • The auto-injector device is a disposable single-use systemthat comes with patient instructions for safe and effective use.
  • Do not inject this medicine if you do not understand theseinstructions.
  • Do not remove the safety cap until you are ready to use theauto-injector. Never put your fingers over the injector tip when removing the safety cap or after the safety cap has been removed.
  • Seek emergency medical attention after any use ofepinephrine to treat a severe allergic reaction.
  • The effects of epinephrinemay wear off after 10 or 20 minutes.
  •   You will need toreceive further treatment and observation.Do not use Adrenalin if it has changed colors or has particles in it, or if the expiration date on the label has passed. Call your pharmacist for a new prescription.

ADRENALINE over-dosage can result in: Difficulty Breathing, Sudden Numbness Or Weakness On One Side Of Body, Slurred Speech, Head Headache, Eyes Blurred Vision, Anxiety, Confusion, Shortness Of Breath, Irregular Heartbeat, Seizures (uncontrollable Jerking Of Limbs)
