Zolpidem is a sedative also called a hypnotic. It affects chemicals in the brain that may be unbalanced in people with sleep problems (insomnia). Zolpidem is used to treat insomnia.

Melatonin is a hormone that’s naturally found in the body. A synthetic version of melatonin is available as a supplement that’s used to treat sleep disorders and other problems. It can also be used in the treatment of cluster headaches. Melatonin is used as an alternative medicine to help conditions such as insomnia, sleep disorders in blind people, delayed sleep phase syndrome (DSPS), and sleep problems in children with developmental or psychiatric disorders.

Precautions for ZOLSOMA FC-TAB and its Constituents


Caution should be exercised in patients with history of kidney or liver problems, lung or breathing problems (e.g chronic obstructive pulmonary disease [COPD], sleep apnea), myasthenia gravis, metabolism problems, heart or blood pressure problems, or very poor health, mental problems (e.g depression), suicidal thoughts or behaviors, or alcohol or substance abuse or addiction, any allergy, who are taking other medications, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. It may cause drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, or lightheadedness, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication. Avoid taking zolpidem during travel, such as to sleep on an airplane. You may be awakened before the effects of the medicine have worn off. Amnesia (forgetfulness) is more common if you do not get a full 7 to 8 hours of sleep after taking zolpidem. Avoid alcohol consumption. It should not be used in children.
  • Caution should be exercised in patients with history of kidney problems, depression or history of seizures, any allergy, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
  • It may cause drowsiness, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication.
  • Avoid alcohol consumption.
