Epinephrine is a chemical that narrows blood vessels and opens airways in the lungs. These effects can reverse severe low blood pressure, wheezing, severe skin itching, hives, and other symptoms of an allergic reaction. Epinephrine injection is used to treat severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) to insect stings or bites, foods, drugs, and other allergens. Epinephrine is also used to treat exercise-induced anaphylaxis.

Precautions



Caution needed for patients with history of heart diseases, thyroid disease, diabetes, Parkinson’s disease, elderly, pregnancy and breastfeeding. If asthma worsens during the treatment, discontinue the treatment. Avoid intravenous injection, and in buttock.

EPINEPHRINE over-dosage can result in: Difficulty Breathing, Sudden Numbness Or Weakness On One Side Of Body, Slurred Speech, Head Headache, Eyes Blurred Vision, Anxiety, Confusion, Chest Pain, Shortness Of Breath, Seizures (uncontrollable Jerking Of Limbs)
