Ticlopidine helps to prevent platelets in your blood from sticking together and forming a blood clot. An unwanted blood clot can occur with certain heart or blood vessel conditions.Ticlopidine is used in the treatment of heart attack and unstable angina. It decreases the chances of having another heart attack, stroke or death from a disease related to your heart or blood vessels.

Precautions for TYKLID 250MG TAB and its Constituents


  • You should not use ticlopidine if you are allergic to ticlopidine.
  • Follow all directions on your prescription label. Do not take this medicine in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
  • If you were switched to ticlopidine from another medicine to prevent blood clots, you should stop using the other medicine first.
  • Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.Avoid activities that may increase your risk of bleeding or injury. Use extra care to prevent bleeding while shaving or brushing your teeth.
  • Ask your doctor before taking a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) for pain, arthritis, fever, or swelling.
  • Do not discontinue use without consulting your doctor as this may increase your chances of having another heart attack or stroke.
  • If you are going to have a surgery or dental treatment, you may be asked to stop taking Ticlopidine temporarily.
  • Do not have immunizations/vaccinations without the consent of your doctor. Avoid contact with people who have recently received live vaccines.
