TAZRET 0.05% GEL is composed of: TAZAROTENE (0.05 %)

This medication is a retinoid, prescribed for psoriasis and acne. It may decrease skin inflammation and skin changes associated with psoriasis. Tazarotene is used in the treatment of psoriasis and acne. It works by slowing down the rapid growth of skin cells, and blocks certain substances which cause inflammation on skin. This reduces scaling and thickening of the skin in psoriasis and clears acne.Tazarotene is a retinoid product related to Vitamin A.

Precautions for TAZRET 0.05% GEL and its Constituents


  • Do not use if you are pregnant.
  • You should not use tazarotene topical if you are allergic to it.
  • You must have a negative pregnancy test within 2 weeks before starting this treatment.
  • Tazarotene topical is usually applied once daily in the evening or at bedtime.
  • Follow all directions on your prescription label. Do not use tazarotene topical in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
  • Do not take by mouth. Topical medicine is for use only on the skin.
  • Do not use this medicine on open wounds or on sunburned, windburned, dry, chapped, or irritated skin.
  • Also avoid using this medicine in wounds or on areas of eczema.
  • Wash your hands before and after using tazarotene topical.
  • Women who use tazarotene topical should start the medication during a menstrual period.
  • Avoid applying the medication to unaffected areas.
  • Do not use extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
  • Avoid exposure to sunlight or tanning beds.
  • Tazarotene topical can make you sunburn more easily. Wear protective clothing and use sunscreen.Avoid using skin products that can cause irritation, such as harsh soaps, shampoos, or skin cleansers, hair coloring or permanent chemicals, hair removers or waxes, or skin products with alcohol, spices, astringents, or lime.
  • Rinse with water if tazarotene topical gets in your eyes.
  • Avoid using other skin medications on the areas you treat with tazarotene topical unless your doctor tells you to.
  • Avoid electrolysis, waxing, and chemical depilatories for hair removal on the treated areas while using this product.
