Rosiglitazone is an oral diabetes medicine that helps control blood sugar levels.Rosiglitazone is for people with type 2 diabetes. Rosiglitazone is sometimes used in combination with other medicines, but it is not for treating type 1 diabetes.Rosiglitazone is used with a proper diet and exercise program to control high blood sugar in people with type 2 diabetes. It lowers blood sugar by helping to restore your body’s proper response to insulin.

Glimepride is used to control high blood sugar level in people with TYPE II DIABETES.

  • You should not use rosiglitazone if you have severe or uncontrolled heart failure.
  • Do not use rosiglitazone if you are in a state of diabetic ketoacidosis.
  • Rosiglitazone is not for treating type 1 diabetes.
  • You should not use rosiglitazone if you are allergic to it.
  • Follow all directions on your prescription label. Your doctor may occasionally change your dose to make sure you get the best results.
  • Do not take this medicine in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
  • Your blood sugar will need to be checked often, If you have severe hypoglycemia and cannot eat or drink, use a glucagon injection.
  • Check your blood sugar carefully during times of stress, travel, illness, surgery or medical emergency, vigorous exercise, or if you drink alcohol or skip meals.
  • Use rosiglitazone regularly to get the most benefit.
  • Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.It may cause dizziness, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication.
  • Follow diet and exercise programme as directed by your healthcare provider.
  • It may lead to dehydration; drink adequate fluid.
