LUPIDIUM TAB is composed of: LOPERAMIDE (2.0 MG)

Loperamide slows the rhythm of digestion so that the small intestines have more time to absorb fluid and nutrients from the foods you eat.Loperamide is used to treat diarrhea. Loperamide is also used to reduce the amount of stool in people who have an ileostomy.It should not be used in patients with dysentery .


Usage

LOPERAMIDE is generally used to treat: Diarrhoea, Travellers’ Diarrhoea
LOPERAMIDE can address symptoms like: Loose Motion, Dry Mouth, Increased Thirst, Loss Of Appetite, Decreased Urination, Fainting, Abdomen Stomach Cramps, Dark Colored (brown) Urine

Precautions for LUPIDIUM TAB and its Constituents


  • You should not use loperamide if you have ulcerative colitis, bloody or tarry stools, diarrhea with a high fever, or diarrhea caused by antibiotic medication.
  • You should not use loperamide if you are allergic to it.
  • Use exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor.Loperamide is safe when used as directed.
  • Take loperamide with a full glass of water. Diarrhea can cause your body to lose fluids and electrolytes.
  • Drink plenty of liquids to keep from getting dehydrated.The loperamide chewable tablet must be chewed before swallowing.
  • Shake the oral suspension (liquid) before you measure a dose. Use the dosing syringe provided, or use a medicine dose-measuring device (not a kitchen spoon).
  • Avoid drinking tonic water. It can interact with loperamide and may cause serious heart problems.
  • Avoid becoming dehydrated by drinking plenty of fluids.
  • Avoid vigorous exercise or exposure to hot weather if you are dehydrated.Loperamide liquid may contain alcohol. Avoid driving or hazardous activity until you know how loperamide will affect you. Your reactions could be impaired.
  • Do not take this drug if you are severly constipated.

Symptoms of Overdosage

LOPERAMIDE over-dosage can result in: Irregular Heartbeat, Difficult To Wake From Sleep, Slow Or Irregular Breathing, Difficulty Urinating, Dizziness, Fainting

Common Side-Effects

LOPERAMIDE : Constipation, Dizziness, Drowsiness, Abdomen Stomach Cramps, Nausea, Fatigue (tiredness)

Serious Side-Effects

LOPERAMIDE : Abdomen Pain, Irregular Heartbeat

Rare Side-Effects

LOPERAMIDE : Skin Rash, Abdomen Bloating Or Fullness, Loss Of Appetite, Dry Mouth
