CELKERAN 2MG TAB is composed of: CHLORAMBUCIL (2.0 MG)

Chlorambucil is a prescription medication used to treat chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL, a type of cancer of the white blood cells) , including Hodgkin’s disease . Chlorambucil is also approved for the treatment of certain lymphomas. Chlorambucil is in a group of drugs called alkylating agents which work by affecting DNA replication causing rapidly multiplying cancer cells to die.It can cause nausea and diarrhea. Women should not get pregnant while on chlorambucil.

Precautions for CELKERAN 2MG TAB and its Constituents

• To make sure chlorambucil is safe for you, tell your doctor if you have, kidney disease, liver disease, a history of seizures, a history of head injury or brain tumor; or if you have received radiation or chemotherapy within the past 4 weeks.
• It is not known whether chlorambucil passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby. You should not breast-feed while using this medicine.
• Using this medicine while you are pregnant can harm your unborn baby. Use an effective form of birth control to keep from getting pregnant. If you think you have become pregnant while using this medicine, tell your doctor right away.
• If you plan to have children, talk with your doctor before using this medicine. Some men and women using this medicine have become infertile (unable to have children).
• Serious skin reactions can occur with this medicine. Stop using this medicine and check with your doctor right away if you have blistering, peeling, or loosening of the skin; red skin lesions; severe acne or skin rash; sores or ulcers on the skin; or fever or chills while you are using this medicine.
• Chlorambucil can temporarily lower the number of white blood cells in your blood, increasing the chance of getting an infection. It can also lower the number of platelets, which are necessary for proper blood clotting. If this occurs, there are certain precautions you can take, especially when your blood count is low, to reduce the risk of infection or bleeding:
• Do not touch your eyes or the inside of your nose unless you have just washed your hands and have not touched anything else in the meantime.
• Avoid contact sports or other situations where bruising or injury could occur.
• Do not receive any kind of immunization or vaccination without your doctor’s approval while taking chlorambucil.

CHLORAMBUCIL : Black (tar) Colored Stools, Gums Bleeding, Blood Or Red Colored Urine, Bloody Or Red Colored Stools, Chest Pain, Cough, Fever, Chills, Lower Back Pain, Pain With Urination, Shortness Of Breath, Mouth Soreness, Face Enlarged Or Swollen Glands, Fatigue (tiredness), Weakness (generalized)

CHLORAMBUCIL : Muscle Pain, Itchy Skin, Skin Irritation, Loose Motion, Eyes Redness, Seizures (uncontrollable Jerking Of Limbs), Legs Shaking, Throat Soreness
