Symptoms
Molluscum contagiosum results in small, raised, round, flesh-coloured painless bumps on the skin. They may appear alone or in groups. These bumps are filled with a white, waxy pus core that contains the virus, and might have a shiny or "pearly" look. They usually are:

very small, shiny, and smooth in appearance

flesh-coloured, white, or pink

firm and dome-shaped with a dent or dimple in the middle
- filled with a central core of waxy material
Causes
Molluscum contagiosum is caused by the molluscum contagiosum virus (MCV). It is highly contagious and can spread with direct contact between the affected skin and the surrounding skin if scratched or rubbed. Also, if someone shares things like towels, bedding, or clothes with an affected person.
