Carpel Tunnel Syndrome: Treatment, Diet and Home Remedies

Food and Nutrition

Foods to be taken
  • Enzyme supplements such as bromelain or combination enzyme products (e.g. Wobenzym) may help to reduce tissue swelling associated with carpal tunnel syndrome. The main source of bromelain is pine apple.
  • Vegetables rich in folic acid as these types of vegetables will help build muscles and reduce swelling in the tissues.
  • Fresh fruits in the diet are also essential for a patient with carpal tunnel syndrome. These fruits will provide the essential minerals and vitamins for the growth of muscles. Potassium is available in bananas.
Foods to be avoided
  • Minimum salt intake in their diet when suffering from this syndrome because salt causes the retention of water in the tissues which makes them swells.
  • Fatty And oily foods. These foods will cause the tissues to swell in a similar way to that of salt.
