Symptoms

Symptoms may vary depending on where in your gut you have Crohns.
  • Abdominal pain and diarrhoea
  • Tiredness and fatigue
  • Feeling generally unwell                              
  • Mouth ulcers
  • Loss of appetite and weight loss
  • Anaemia (a reduced level of red blood cells)
  • Fever and chills
  • Persistent diarrhoea
  • Night sweats
  • Urgent need to move bowels

Causes

The exact cause of Crohns disease is unknown. It may be due to
  • Genetics
  • The immune system
  • Smoking
  • Previous infection
  • Environmental factors (Viruses, bacteria, diet, smoking, and stress)
