Prevention Tips

Use the following tips to prevent ear infections:
  • Maintain good hygiene by washing your hands frequently so that you illnesses can avoid the risk of contracting an infection through the transference of germs via contact
  • Avoid exposure to smoke including second-hand smoke
  • Breast-feed your baby, as breast milk contains antibodies that help to protect baby your infant from infections
  • Hold your baby in an upright position during feedings
  • Have your child vaccinated regularly

Watch Out

  • Fluid, pus or blood discharge from the ear
  • Sore throat

When to See Doctor

Consult a doctor if you have symptoms like
  • Severe ear pain
  • Hearing problems
  • Temperature higher than 100.4
  • Discharge of blood or pus from the ears
  • Dizziness, Stiff neck, or cannot walk normally
