VIGABATRIN

VIGABATRIN is a Schedule H drug.
Vigabatrin is an anti-epileptic medicine, also called an anticonvulsant. Vigabatrin is used in combination with other medications to treat complex partial seizures in adults and children who are at least 10 years old. The powder form of vigabatrin is used to treat infantile spasms in babies and children between the ages of 1 month and 2 years.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with history of kidney or liver impairment, vision problem, suicidal thoughts, depression, any allergy, who are taking other medication, elderly, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. It may cause dizziness or drowsiness, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication. It may develop with unusual weight gain; if it is so consult with your doctor. It may develop with increased risk of suicidal thoughts; watch them carefully. Perform eye examination regularly while taking this medication.

Symptoms of Overdosage

VIGABATRIN over-dosage can result in: Drowsiness, Dizziness, Confusion, Slurred Speech, Agitation, Restless Or Irritability, Unusual Behavior, Seizures (uncontrollable Jerking Of Limbs), Slow Heart Rate (pulse), Slow Or Irregular Breathing, Fainting

VIGABATRIN : Nausea, Vomit, Head Headache, Weight Gain, Fatigue (tiredness)

VIGABATRIN : Mood Swings, Confusion, Hallucinations
