LENALIDOMIDE is a Schedule H drug.
Lenalidomide affects the immune system. It promotes immune responses to help slow tumor growth.Lenalidomide is used to treat multiple myeloma (bone marrow cancer), either in combination with another medicine or after stem cell transplant It works by helping the bone marrow to produce normal blood cells and by killing abnormal cells in the bone marrow.Lenalidomide modulates the activity of body’s immune system and helps indirectly attacking the cancer cells. It also stops the growth of blood vessels in cancer.

How Do I Take It?

Route of Administration: Oral

Precautions

  • Never use this medicine if you are pregnant.
  • You should not use lenalidomide if you are allergic to it.Follow all directions on your prescription label. Do not take this medicine in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended. Never share this medicine with another person, even if they have the same disorder you have.
  • Take the medicine at the same time each day, with or without food.
  • Take each dose with a full glass of water. Swallow the capsule whole, without breaking it open.
  • The medicine from an open capsule can be dangerous if it gets on your skin. If this occurs, wash your skin with soap and water.
  • Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
  • You must not donate blood or sperm while you are using lenalidomide, and for at least 4 weeks after your last dose.
  • Avoid exposing another person to your blood or semen through casual or sexual contact.
  • This medicine can pass into body fluids (urine, feces, vomit). Caregivers should wear rubber gloves while cleaning up a patient’s body fluids, handling contaminated trash or laundry or changing diapers.
  • Wash hands before and after removing gloves. Wash soiled clothing and linens separately from other laundry.Do not drive or operate machines while taking lenalidomide as it may make you feel dizzy, tired, sleepy or have blurred vision.
  • Do not have immunizations/vaccinations without the consent of your doctor.
  • Avoid contact with people who have recently received live vaccines

LENALIDOMIDE : Edema, Breathlessness, Hypocalcemia, Anxiety, Neuropathy, Skin Rash, Itchy Skin, Constipation, Diarrhoea, Fever, Cough, Nausea, Fatigue (tiredness), Chills, Dry Mouth, Pale Skin, Mouth Soreness, Throat Soreness, Vomit, Confusion, Difficulty Talking, Eyes Double Vision (without One Eye Covered), Head Headache, Slow Or Irregular Breathing, Arms Pain, Jaws Pain, Back Pain, Slurred Speech, Weight Gain, Body Excessive Sweating, Face Swelling, Fingers Swelling, Feet Swelling, Restless Or Irritability, Body Pain, Drowsiness, Unusual Taste In Mouth, Loose Motion

LENALIDOMIDE : Heart Failure, Depression, Swollen Lymph Nodes, Muscle Cramp, Seizure, Black (tar) Colored Stools, Gums Bleeding, Blood Or Red Colored Urine, Chest Pain, Decreased Urination, Labored Breathing, Dry Mouth, Increased Thirst, Irregular Heartbeat, Loss Of Appetite, Mood Swings, Hands Numbness, Feet Numbness, Pain With Urination, Eyes Blurred Vision, Body Loss Of Movement, Night Sweats, Pounding Heart (pulse), Eyes Pain, Neck Enlarged Or Swollen Glands, Difficulty Concentrating, Difficulty Swallowing, Upper Abdomen Pain, Loss Of Voice, Arms Weakness, Legs Weakness, Shortness Of Breath
