It is used to improve blood flow in patients with circulation problems in the hands and feet.It works by decreasing the thickness (viscosity) of blood, allowing it to pass more easily through the blood vessels. This effect is beneficial in peripheral vascular disease, where the blood vessels in the arms and legs are narrowed.

  • You should not use this medicine if you are allergic to pentoxifylline.
  • You also should not use pentoxifylline if you have recently had any type of bleeding in your brain or the retina of your eyes.
  • Follow all directions on your prescription label.
  • Do not take pentoxifylline in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
  • While using pentoxifylline, you may need frequent blood tests.
  • Do not crush, chew, or break an extended-release tablet.
  • Swallow it whole.
  • It may take up to 4 weeks before your symptoms improve.
  • Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.Patients taking pentoxifylline are advised to exercise caution while driving or operating machines.
  • Do not stand up and raise from the bed quickly as it may cause dizziness.

PENTOXIFYLLINE over-dosage can result in: Drowsiness, Agitation, Fever, Fainting, Anxiety, Seizures (uncontrollable Jerking Of Limbs)
