Prevention Tips

  • Donot drink alcohol
  • Medicines such as sleeping pills and sedatives, before bed. These can relax your throat muscles and slow your breathing
  • Eat sensibly
  • Do regular exercise and maintain a healthy weight
  • Quit smoking. 

Watch Out

  • Leg swelling (if severe)
  • Teeth grinding

When to See Doctor

Consult a doctor if you:
  • Daytime sleepiness or fatigue
  • Dry mouth or sore throat upon awakening
  • Headaches in the morning
  • Trouble concentrating, forgetfulness, depression, or irritability
  • Snoring
  • Breathing problems during sleep
