Symptoms

  • A small, white patch on the skin which may expand with time
  • Premature graying of hair

  • Skin irritation when exposed to sunlight

Causes

  • Vitiligo occurs when the cells that produce melanin die or no longer form melanin, causing slowly enlarging white patches of irregular shapes to appear on your skin
  • Chronic or acute gastric diseases
  • Deficiency of calcium
  • Inflammatory skin conditions
  • Burns
  • Steroid injection
  • Excessive stress, tension
  • Impairment of liver function (due to jaundice)
  • Wearing tight clothes
  • Wearing rubber gloves
  • Using stickers or tattoos on the skin
  • Heredity
