Prevention Tips

  • Avoid swimming or wading in water that might be contaminated.
  • Avoid areas of stagnant water.
  • Use waterproof gloves and boots, goggles and a mask if you are working at farming or any animal related places.
  • If you are travelling wear protective clothing, drink only bottled water.
  • There is no vaccine that protects humans from leptospirosis, but it is possible to vaccinate cattle, dogs and other per animals.
  • Use antibiotics
  • Early diagnosis and treatment.
