Gastritis: Symptom and Causes

Symptoms

Many people with gastritis experience no symptoms at  all. The most common symptom is upper abdominal pain (pain varies dull to severe). Other symptoms include
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting 
  • Belching (release of gas from stomach through mouth)
  • Bloating (abnormal swelling of the abdominal area)
  • Early satiety (a feeling or condition of being full after eating food)
  • Hiccups
  • Indigestion
  • Loss of appetite (loss of hunger)
  • Weight loss
Gastritis Symptoms

Causes

  • Acute (less severe) is caused as the side effect of few other medications you take (NSAIDs), alcohol consumption.
  • Chronic is caused due to other medical condition (diesease) in the body, release of antibodies from immune system against the stomach cells, Helicobacter pylori bacterial infection.
  • Other causes are coffee, pernicious anemia, bile reflux, chemotheraphy.
